Coach Scott Smith

Coach Smith is entering his 11th year of coaching soccer. He is a native of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, and moved to California for collegiate soccer. He achieved All-American status as a collegiate athlete at Marymount University, CA, registering 36 goals and 36 assists in 62 games. Upon graduating with a Bachelor's in Business Management, he earned a Master of Arts in Education & Teaching, while being an assistant coach at Lubbock Christian University, TX. During his time at LCU, he was also Director of Coaching for Republic Soccer Club and holds his USSF B license and United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma. He comes to Grand Oaks having spent 7 years at Frenship High School, leaving the program as the all-time most winning coach, while leading the teams to their first district championship and longest play-off run, having made it to the 6-A regional quarter-final.

Coach Jerron Myers

Coach Myers is entering his 19th year of coaching and his third season with Grand Oaks High School. He previously came to GOHS from Cleveland High and has coached football, basketball, and track at Sam Rayburn High and Milby High School. This is his second year coaching soccer. During his first year, his 9th grade team won the district title for that level.

 

He is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in Sports Administration (2001) and Grand Canyon University with a master's in Education (2007). Coach Myers and his wife, Melissa, have one daughter, Jillian (14).
